Currently Reading

Look here what I'm planning to read:

I'm currently reading The poppy war by R.F. Kuang. This is the first book in The poppy war trilogy. I'm reading a copy from the library whilst listening to the audiobook. Reading this for the second time. Reading this for the Magical Readathon for Inscription with the prompt: write down 3 titles, fold it and pick one. This is an adult fantasy book series with historical aspects.

I read this series 3 years ago and really wanted to read it again. I just need some good fantasy books in my life and this series is very good. Curious to see if I will like it more then the first time I read it. So far really enjoying it, love the school setting a lot. Rin is a very cool character. I do know that I disliked a certain plot point at the end, so we shall see how I feel about that now.

I'm currently reading The long call by Ann Cleeves. This is the first book in the Two rivers series. I'm reading a copy from the library whilst listening to the audiobook. Reading this for the Magical Readathon for Animal studies with the prompt: yellow title.

Have read a couple of thrillers lately and this one is not hitting as much as the other ones. Probably because it doesn't feel that suspenceful. I think I will finish it. Again a book with casual LGBTQ+ representation, which I really appreciate. Will try to finish it before April ends, but we shall see if I manage that.

I'm currently reading The passing playbook by Isaac Fitzsimmons. Reading a copy from the library. Reading this because I want to read more books with trans characters. This is a young adult contemporary romance book with LGBTQ+ characters and a sports theme.

I'm really enjoying the representation in this book. Really fun to read about. Also fun to read about someone playing soccer which I have played for a long time when I was younger. The romance so far is not really present, but I like when it's more slow burn, so that is great. What I don't really like is that the main character lies a lot in the first half of this book. It makes me very uncomfortable and I don't understand why people do that, so it is a difficult read. But I think it has cleared up now, so will hopefully enjoy the second part more.
